How do I disable new mail notification popups on Mac (10.8.3) when using Thunderbird 22 (beta)?
This older thread suggests Preferences/Options > General > When new messages arrive > Show an alert, but that option doesn't exist in Thunderbird 22:

Disappearing emails

TB 17.06 on Win XP Pro SP3
All emails in one of my folders have suddenly disappeared. I don't think I
have caused it, but, of course, I can't be sure. All other folders appear
to be OK. The folder in my profile is showing a size of 0 KB. A backup done
on Monday shows a size of 23,716 KB. The .msf file for that folder is also... more »

How to turn off junk controls?

I've found way too many messages in my Junk folder from friends, brokers, etc. I mark them 'not junk' but that just moves them back to the inbox and seems to have no other effect. Retraining hasn't helped. I'd like to completely turn off the junk controls, but that doesn't seem possible.... more »

Changing Font Size in Folder and Thread Panes

I am running TB 17.0.6 under Windows 7 and need to increase the font size in the Folder and Thread Panes. The only instructions I can find seem to require modifications to the userChrome.css file in my profile. There is no such file there. Does 17.0.6 require something else to change those font sizes?... more »

Selected page size when printing does not remain sticky.

TB 17.0.6, Lubuntu Linux.
Epson Stylus printer R800. When printing I select page size as "A4". This does not remain as a sticky setting and reverts always to US Letter in page setup (in
Printer Setup window) when printing another email at some other time.
No such issue on Firefox 21, where the selection remains sticky on A4.... more »

Links slow to come up

Using Thunderbird 17.0.4 and Firefox 21.0. When I pick on a link in Thunderbird it takes almost a minute to bring up the page. If I copy the link location and paste it in Firefox it appears very quickly.
Any suggestions?

I have two computers on a LAN, each with Thunderbird installed and connected to the same newsgroups server.

filtering .rar files

Trying to filter out porn spam in binary newsgroups so I set a filter to delete any messages with ".rar" in the subject line but it is not working.
