Impact on performance

How does it impact on global performance the choice to keep all the emails stored in one Archive folder (I'm already at 1.4 GB with it) instead of the new TB Archives structure (one archive folder per year)? Before moving and removing, I'd like to know if someone has already figured it out.. Thanks in advance... more »

Newsgroups ?

I know this is not the right place to ask, but ... my provider and my university have discontinued their usenet newsgroups. I still can access this group (obviously !) but I need to access groups like sci.math, etc... Any idea, apart from going web? TIA Daniel

Word wrap in HTML

I'm sure there's an easy way to do this, but I can't find it in the toolbars or in the list archives. If I'm composing in HTML, how can I word wrap at a selected width, say 72 or 100 characters? Lindsay Graham Canberra, Australia

I have my Email with AT&T. TB multiple group subscription

Last few days TB has asked if I want to subscribe to a group even though already subscribed. I note that it adds it to the profile folder and when I log into ng's in eternal-september it counts all these extra groups and then still asks if I want to subscribe. Anyone know how I can correct this annoyance?... more »

Can't start TB because it thinks one is already running

In trying to reboot and start running TB, I get the error message "An instance of TB is running, close it or restart your system". I can't find it in Task Manager, and have shut down and restarted 3 times, always same result. In order to send this SOS message, I'm running on my backup (clone) system.......... more »

I have installed Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 on OpenSuse 11.2. When I click on a link in an email, no browser is opened. Where can I set the association between the link and the browser?

UserChrome.css Issue

Does anyone know why the following contents of the userchrome.css (in the Chrome folder) has no affect on the TB interface? Running TB 2.0.0.23 under Mac OS 10.6.2 (late 2009 21.5" screen iMac) with a screen resolution set to 1920x1080. There is no user.js file in the profile. Spam Filters Catches the wrong things

The SPAM filters on TB are catching items that are not SPAM, that I've not written filters for and that I've never clicked on as SPAM. I've tried clearing the SPAM cache but nothing is working. It's a pain. Any clues? J
