Is there an easy way to re-arrange the order in which accounts are
displayed in the accounts pane?

Thanks -- looks like it should work, but the link launches FF and the
"Install Now" button on that page tries to install the extension into
FF, which complains that it is not compatible with FF. Right-clicking on
the button isn't giving me a "download" option so I can install it from
within TB, either.

How does a fellow install that extension from within TB?

I just checked and the right click context menu option of save link
as.... worked for me. FF 1.5.0.11 on Win ME.

<button2-click> (/e.g./, <right-click>) | Save Link As.

Then: Tools | Add-ons : Extensions -- Install and navigate to where you
saved the file.

When installing a Thunderbird extension, you need to either:
- save the file [Right-click on the link-->Save_Link_As] to your
computer, then open the Thunderbird Extension Manager
[Tools-->Extensions], click on the Install button, and select the XPI
file you saved to your computer.

or

- Open the Thunderbird Extension Manager [Tools-->Extensions], and
click&drag the "Install Now" link to the Thunderbird Extension Manager.

If you simply left-click on the Install Now link, it will try to install
in Firefox, not Thunderbird.

Um, yeah. I don't know why "Save Link As..." didn't translate in my
brain as "download," but there you are: user not bright enough.

The "drag the Install Now button into the Extension Manager window"
method is sweet. I think that some kind of helpful how-to link should be
placed on every darn TB extension web page. ("Trying to install this
Thunderbird extension into Thunderbird? Click here.")

On the other hand, just about every extension I've ever installed has,
at one point or the other, not been able to keep up with FF and TB
upgrades and so have been left in the dust. I view them as temporary.
