Image zoom, as mentioned a few threads up, will do that. You need to hack the RDF file to get it to install, but once you do it will do that and works great.

I changed the install.rdf file and tried to install in thunderbird 12.0.1 and it does not work. Any ideas.

What changes did you make to the install.rdf file?
minVersion 5.0 and maxVersion doesn't seem to need to be changed since
it installed in my Thunderbird Daily 15.0a1, with it set to 12.0.*.

I set minVersion to 5.0
maxversion to 12.0.*
I tried to install in 12.0.1
install reported that it was incompatible to TB 12.0.1

I can't test it with 12.0.1, since I can't get the update, but it
installed in TB 12.0. Here is the code from my altered install.rdf.
There is also a Firefox and SeaMonkey section, so make sure you changed
the Thunderbird section.

Some people just have to pass on the right, when you are supposed to
pass on the left. Depending on the country.

Dennis,
As WLS mentioned my guess is you did not change all three entries. I think I also changed something else but I forget. If you can't get it to work e me at r i c k a t m o o g m u s i c d o t c o m and I'll send it to you as mine worked fine. Wish I could put attachments in this NG.

I didn't change all three entries, just Thunderbird. That is where we
are trying to get it to work.
Just pointed out he should make sure he selected the correct application.

True. I just did all three to be done with it. I use Seamonkey at work and home, Thunderbid at home and Firefox for some extra computers around the house.
