Installed Thunderbird today. I can get my newsgroups; I can send
email out;
BUT-I cannot receive email. Have tried redoing the email account built in
Thunderbird with no luck.
Any suggestions would be appericated. Thank You

If you are talking about the Heart of Texas RR pop-server, its name is
pop-server.hot.rr.com and you use just the username in the username
section (as opposed to the whole email address like some servers).

Sometimes Tbird wants to setup an account automatically as imap - that
won't work for a popserver. You should not be using a secure connection
or secure authentication in the server settings. The port is 110.

What is the problem you are having -- what is the alert?

The TB creation account wizard can take IMAP to inbound protocol. Must
be POP3 (with 110 port), or let the config of your email providor.
