Hello,

I need to have a part of one of my address book as a mailing list (abt
25 items) .

1 Created the list in that address book
2 In the list selected 4 or 5 nearby addresses, dragged them into the
list. Checked that they were there.
3 Selected a few more groups of addresses and dragged each group into
the list
4 Idem a few single address
5 checking the list: it contains only 5 adresses.

What went wrong?

In the address book, of course...

I have now tried in several diffent ways:
* Drag to the list that occurs between the individual contacts
* drag to the list as it occurs in the "folder tree" of address books.

Moth methods worked a few times, but also did nothing in other instances.
I have 15 of the 25 in the list now...

In about:config i see no line that has a questionable setting when
searching for "address"

ldap_2.servers.default.attrmap.HomeAddress;mozillaHomeStreet
ldap_2.servers.default.attrmap.HomeAddress2;mozillaHomeStreet2
ldap_2.servers.default.attrmap.WorkAddress;street,streetaddress,postOfficeBox
ldap_2.servers.default.attrmap.WorkAddress2;mozillaWorkStreet2
mail.collect_addressbook;moz-abmdbdirectory://history.mab
mail.collect_email_address_outgoing;true
mail.phishing.detection.ipaddresses;true
mail.showCondensedAddresses;false
mailnews.ui.addressbook_panel_results.version;1
mailnews.ui.addressbook_results.version;1
mailnews.ui.select_addresses_results.version;1
removedupes.compare_stripped_and_sorted_addresses;false

or "addressbook":
mail.collect_addressbook;moz-abmdbdirectory://history.mab
mailnews.ui.addressbook_panel_results.version;1
mailnews.ui.addressbook_results.version;1

Searching for "list" gives a long list, but no entries refering to
mailing lists or addresses lists

Hheeeeellllllllllllllppppppppppppppppppppppppp!

Don't know if this will be of any assist: I had a devil of a time for
a couple of months whereby cards wouldn't drag from the account to one
of the lists in that account, nor would they drag from one list to
another.

This had been going on for a few years off and on and it seemed as
though with one TB update it was fine then it wouldn't work with the
next. Today I just discovered a new cause and with a little luck
it's been corrected: I use Google Mail and currently have that set up
as the only account. What I found was that if a card was corrupted by
Google's standards, it wouldn't drag -- in fact sometimes it would
duplicate itself. I had read that Google insists on an email entry in
that field so I had made up dummies such as x...@ooo.com. Apparently
that wasn't appreciated by Google. The author of the addon Google
Contacts knows of this and if an entry is missing the email address it
adds a pseudo email address. So I went out to Google Mail/Contacts
and deleted all of my pseudo addresses and then opened and synced TB
and in all of these one can see the pseudo address in TB, although not
in GM. It's been working fine for a day, so I'll let people know if
it continues OK for another couple of days.
