I used Thunderbird wish some lesser email accounts of mine in order to
test it out and become comfortable with it. I am now ready to move my
main email over, but don't want it to be the bottom account listed in
the tree. Is there a way to re-order the order in which accounts show
up in the tree view on the left? Thanks.

Yes with the use of the extension "Folderpane Tools" for thos using Tb2.
The forthcoming Tb3 will support drag-n-drop reordering.

Hi Ron, where did you read that TB 3 will has such support?
I am testing RC1 and it doesn't seem to let you drag and drop
anything... perhaps it is a restriction of smart folders mode.

Nope... classical mode doesn't let drag and drop neither. :-(

I think the bug that Ron mention was for rearrange newsgroup folder
manually in folder pane. Account rearrange related bug is still open

That addon compatibility includes Tb 3.0 and its stability and security
branch. The Tb trunk is now 3.1a1pre for work on Tb Next.

3.1a1pre represents nightly builds on the trunk.

Its not uncommon for extension developers to set the maxversion for a
version highr then has been released.

Even though it does install for TB3, but it does not work for me. Anyone
got the Folderpane Tools add-on working for TB3?
The last time it got updated was April 11, 2007, so I'm not really
surprised it's not working. I think the claim for compatibility with TB
3.1a1pre is a little too optimistic.

FolderPane Tools are installed and working correctly here on both TB
6.0b4 and SM 2.0.

Thanks for confirming it works for you. I tried to re-install the
add-on. But I still get this error, when clicking on 'Preferences' in
the add-on manager:
http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/5616/folderpaneerror.png

I'm using TB3 RC1 candidate build 2 on Linux.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091117
Lightning/1.0pre Thunderbird/3.0 ThunderBrowse/3.2.6.5

Apparently others have seen the same problem, as the feedback on AMO
indicates.
And Folderpane tools isn't compatible with SM2. SM does not seem to be a
valid target application for it, so it cannot easily be bumped.
How did you get it installed in SM?

From that error message, you ahve got some kind of extension
incompatibility. It may be something else that is interfering with
FOlderPane tools, rather then FPT itself, I really don't know. I can't
speak to the RC1, I have the beta installed.

Phil Chee has a version modified for SeaMonkey available on his xSidebar
page:

http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmailnews.html

There are a lot of FF and TB only extension that have modified version
there, its a great resource.

The modified version of FPT from xSidebar works beautifully also in TB3.
Thanks for the link.
