I can not send email on my laptop, I get the following message,
Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because connecting to the SMTP server
SMTP.valornet.com failed.
The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections, please
verify that your SMTP server is correct & try again
or else contact your network administrator.

The SMTP setting on my laptop is the same as the SMTP settings on my
desktop & the desktop can send emails.
Laptop is new with windows 7 & the latest version of TB, I have also
tried smtp in lower case letters & it still does not work.

UPDATE
It was a firewall problem, TB did not like the web Root firewall so I
turned it off & turned on the windows firewall & it's working now.

BTW: machine/domain names, like email addresses are case insensitive.

You know how most packages say "Open here"? What if it said, "Open somewhere else?"

The Windows 7 firewall is reasonably competent. I see no great need for
buying another at this point.
Glad you found the problem.
