Using Mandriva linux 2006 I'm typing this fast because I usually have only a few minutes before crash-time. Here's the error message in the linux text console after two events:
/usr/local/seamonkey/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 19882 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
/usr/local/seamonkey/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 20405 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
I have no idea what's going on here. I've reinstalled Seamonkey 1.1.1 between event #1 and event #2. Could this be a profile issue?

Line 131 is the line of the "run-mozilla.sh" script which invokes the "seamonkey-bin" binary. "run-mozilla.sh" is itself called from another script named -- you guessed it -- "seamonkey".
You may want to make sure that the "Talkback" component is installed (and reinstall SeaMonkey as a "full" or "custom" install if necessary). Then, at your next crash, you'll get a popup titled "Netscape Quality Feedback Agent" (sic). Fill the input boxes and end it by clicking on "Queue". Then, *without* reinstalling SeaMonkey, invoke the program <installdir>/components/talkback/talkback where <installdir> is the SeaMonkey install directory, usually /usr/local/seamonkey/. Click Incidents => Send Unsent Incidents. (Notwithstanding the program title, the crash data will be sent to Mozilla, not to Netscape.) After a few seconds, you'll get an "incident number" which can be copied (manually, on Linux: IIUC, it's only on Windows that you can use the clipboard) into a bug report (at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ ), or into the top left box of the page http://talkback-public.mozilla.org/search/start.jsp to get a "developer-readable" crash report with stack trace. (If the stack trace is "without symbols", you may want, in addition to all the above, to install a "nightly build" of Sm 1.1 from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/latest-mozil... -- the part after the question mark sorts the latest builds to the top; use, of course, the installer.tar.gz for linux-i686.)

I'm talking about Fullcircle Talkback here, or SupportSoft SupportTrigger, as it's reportedly being named nowadays in the commercial version.

I always do a full-meal-deal install. No Talkback utility popped up after any of the crash incidents I've seen. I'll try living in denial this afternoon and see if the problem went away by itself overnight. That's how it first appeared, after all! (grin)

Oh, hey... This is interesting! I deleted all of my old Netscape-6, Mozilla, and Firefox installations, and for the moment the problem with Seamonkey hasn't recurred... Hmmm... Who'd a thunk it? Maybe I should clean this 'puter out more often.

Spoke too soon... A half-hour later. Crashness is evident. How lamentable.
