Using saved password fails to work for site: webchat.freenode.net Though the password _is_ (has already been) saved, the saved account name & pw is not filled in on the screen. Bug? Fix? How is the password automatic entry function supposed to work? Is it merely supposed to fill in all account name & pw info for a page when that page is loaded?... more »

My attempt to upgrade to 3.5.7 didn't "take"

Because my Firefox version 3.0.4 had stopped creating bookmarks, I decided to upgrade to 3.5.7. I went through all the business needed to do this, only to discover that the upgrade didn't take. Thunderbird and Firefox very slow on WLAN!?

I just bought a netbook that connects to my DSL router via WLAN (802.11b/g). Even though the signal strength indicator in Windows 7 shows all bars (i.e., "excellent"), Thunderbird[1] loads my IMAP e-mails slower than I can remember my modem used to be 15 years ago. Moving a profile to another PC temporarily

I have to send my 9 mos old desktop back to have 2 CPU replaced. If I move my default profile from that machine onto my laptop in the proper folder, will that automatically cause the profile selector dialog to come up when I open FF? This is what I want. I've been using the same profile since I started using FF years ago. I think it's time to start fresh, and hopefully become a little more efficient.
