Some webpages provide for downloads of files, through a script
(ie, one clicks a link, and the server than generates the file).
At some point in that, a popup (You have chosen to open ...) appears
asking what to do with the file

Memory hog is too much for me. I switched to Chrome.

The rapid, paralyzing memory bleed that is well-established in FF at this point seems to have no solution. Or rather, no solution that actually works. I became so tired of quitting FF 20 in order to alleviate its glacial pace that I actually tried Chrome and discovered that it works very well.

Using FF 20.0 in both W7 and W8 on the same machine I note this oddity...
In Win 7, it sees all the plugins that are in the Program Files/Mozilla
Profile folder.
In Win 8 - same plugins, same Program Director folder - it's seeing only
some of those plugins, if any. (FF might be fetching them from other... more »

Hi,
Does anyone know where the Cookie Monster addon for firefox stores its data. I seem to have lost the config and wanted to recover just that bit of info from a backup.

I can no longer find the Clear Cache menu item.

Search engine plugins in FF 21

I lost my many custom search plugins when upgrading. I tried
removing the search.* files to no avail. I then discovered that
the searchplugins folder in the installation location (on my
Windows 7 system, that's C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins)
is NOW IGNORED.

[link] fails to render correctly in aurora, in the latest Chrome, and the latest IE10.
firefox and chrome are silent about the problem, which I believe is mixed content. the firefox error log contains multiple reports like

I just noticed that there's a Firefox 21.0 now. I have 20.0.1. I'm debating whether to try it. I don't like the changes Firefox has been making in the rapid release 4-20 versions. I've had to do many tweaks with about:config or userChrome.css to keep it functioning like I want. I still miss the 3.6 series. So I wonder what unpleasant surprises are... more »
