Problems updating FF after latest Windows update

Insrtalled a Windows Update (KB976749) this morning An update to IE8. Later I tried updating FF from 3.5.3 to 3.5.5 and the computer locked up during the "verifying phase". At that point 3.5.2 was also corrupted and could not start - got a very wierd error message about a pointer or something. Unistalled FF from the Control Panel, ran a reg... more »

windows 7: minimized ff windows not appearing on taskbar

it is a general problem with windows 7, not just ff specific. It is happening with all programs that open windows of their own. I am asking it in relation with ff. :-) hope your suggestion solves my same problem in w7 with any application. I open a ff window, its band appears in the taskbar. I minimize the window, its band disappears from the w7 taskbar. While it remains open and I have to access it through alt-tab. I have been struggling with this for last 2 weeks or so. How to make all the open/minimized ff windows necessarily appear on w7 taskbar?... more »

100% CPU Use and freezes again

FF has been behaving pretty well on this WinXP Pro SP2 machine for quite some time now. Yesterday it updated itself to v 3.5.5 and things seem to have gone wrong right away. Now FF hangs on the save dialog box whether it is saving the page or any graphic. Also FF hangs whenever transitioning to media-rich sites as [link].... more »

Is posible configure a button to make the change of config.trim_on_minimize work and only when the button is pressed. If config.trim_on_minimize is set to true always work to free the memory upon minimize

On two different websites in the last few days I have experienced the same problem. I click on a link to get further details of an item. The correct web page downloads but after it is about 90% complete it hangs with the "loading" message still showing. In several cases the message the Status Bar showed "Waiting for googleads.g.doubleclick.net" but I think there... more »

Just got my second FF 3.5.4 crash in as many days. Pgm dies and a screen pops up asking for a crash report. Anyone know what this is all about. Also, I just installed the FireFox Preloader. Related?? Lou

I can't find the function "Sort by name" in Favorites when I right click. I used to have that ability. I use FFox 3.5.4 with Windows XP. Is ther another way for this? tks all bw

Hi, I've got into a rather lazy habit of only bookmarking pages when I know that I'll want to repeatedly refer to them in the future, but having Firefox always save my session so that pages that I'm "currently reading" but might only need to refer to temporarily for a few days (until all dealt with, eg various manual/documentation pages for current projects)... more »
