  I am not seeing that problem with Windows 7 64 bit. FF runs great, TB3 &lt;br&gt; is buggy, but doesn&#39;t crash.

  I&#39;ve experienced the problem too, with Firefox 3.5.6. I discovered that &lt;br&gt; disabling the Update Scanner add-on almost completely eliminates the &lt;br&gt; problem. Pity, because I find that add-on useful. &lt;br&gt; When Firefox is not responding the Windows task manager tells me that &lt;br&gt; CPU utilization is 100%.   Clearing cache and download history when you close Firefox would help. &lt;br&gt; Clearing your usage history is not likely to help and would impair your &lt;br&gt; use of the awesomebar (location bar autocomplete) for several weeks. &lt;br&gt; History and bookmarks are stored in places.sqlite and wouldn&#39;t expect &lt;br&gt; either to have problems which may have occurred in the past.

  You have a broken set up in some way. &lt;br&gt; Likely culprits are Adobe Flash and Sun Java. &lt;br&gt; Make sure both are up to date, and that you only have the latest Java &lt;br&gt; runtime installed. &lt;br&gt; Phil

  I use the Exit Button extension, which is supposed to be the same as &lt;br&gt; using File &amp;gt; Exit, but I wouldn&#39;t think it should make a difference if &lt;br&gt; you operate in single window mode, as I do.

  I find that the longer I use FF, the longer it takes to completely shut &lt;br&gt; down (and I use the Exit Button extension). That goes for every version &lt;br&gt; up to and including 3.5.6. though that version doesn&#39;t seem near as bad &lt;br&gt; as previous versions, which sometimes took literally minutes to &lt;br&gt; completely shut down.

  similar to that. Here&#39;s what I do: &lt;br&gt; I completely clear my history, and cache. That includes the URL bar history, &lt;br&gt; etc. It&#39;s amazing the performance boost that gives! Hope that helps
