OpenSearch Plugins / Autoupdate Support?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if the OpenSearch plugins have the ability to
periodically check to see if there are plugin updates?
The native FF search plugins support the browser tag and
autoupdatability - just wondering if OpenSearch has or will have the
same.

Well, MozSearch (Mozilla's simplified XML search plugin format) supports
updating stuff similar to Sherlock. Thanks to XML namespaces, you can
use them in OpenSearch plugins. Perhaps other software will eventually
support that part of MozSearch, or it will be incorporated into OpenSearch.
