Is there an addon that will clear the cache at a regular interval out there?
Just the cache, not all personal data including history etc

NAFAIK

Tools > Options > Privacy > Private Data > Always clear ... > Settings >
Select what you want

Then Ctrl+shift+Del will do it.

Of course, the data not cleared will stay...

The Toolbar Buttons 0.6.0.8 addon has a button for clearing the cache.
Once the addon is installed you can add the button using the using the
customize toolbars dialog. The add on is here
http://codefisher.org/toolbar_button/
or hare
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2377

It's not automatic, but it makes the job only 1 click away.

This free NirSoft utility allows you to clear/clean up pretty much whatever
you want to from your computer with two clicks. I use it every day:

Try ccleaner. You can set up as /auto for silent cleaning and /shutdown
/auto to clean then shutdown when you want. Settings are easy to do to your
liking.
