Yes, thanks for the link: it allows me to say I fundamentally disagree
with the article's author!
Just because ticking or unticking a box is likely to have results that
_may_ puzzle some users, he wants the developers to remove that option
completely - even suggesting that in a case where only 2% (his
figure^Wguess) of users use such a feature, it be replaced with an
add-on. (For example: if I wanted to turn off automatic loading of
images - the first option he thinks we should be "protected" from - I'd
be pretty peeved if I had to involve an add-on.)
I can foresee at least as many posts here in support asking "where's the
xxx option gone" as there would be (are - or rather aren't) asking about
problems caused by changing one of the settings he objects to being
available.
Even in the case of "Override Automatic Cache Management" he's
scaremongering: this is only a "browser killer" if you _reduce_ the
figure - he shows it set to 0!
I'm glad the developers don't have his "nanny knows best" view, or we
here would get lots of help posts.
