I think I previously had that icon at the end of last open tab clicking that would open a new blank tab at the end.
when I "reset ff", it has gone.
I am missing the convenience of that. Without it, middle click on "no-tab" area in tab bar does open new tab, but then, open tabs fill up entire tab bar and reach upto the icons customized at the end, so there is no place remaining to middle click.
Also, drag dropping a link to that "open new tab" icon used to open that link in a new tab. currently, dropping a link to empty area in tab bar doesn't have any effect.
I don't think I was using any add on to get that icon. It was just there, might be some about:config setting.
So, can anyone please tell me how to get that icon at the end of last open tab on tab bar.

I assume you're referring to the 'new tab' icon, but that should be after the last tab by default. You can see screenshots of the default Firefox toolbar at <http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/>

There was a + icon in customise that I had dragged to drop on menu - tab bar. I used to click on that to open new tab.
Today, following your suggestion, I repeatedly dragged that same icon to different locations on tab bar, and then it somehow got attached after the last tab.
Now, I am getting that + New Tab at the end of tab bar. problem solved.
