I use Fx 10 ESR on XP Pro. Is it too old a version to work on Windows 8
Desktop mode (not Metro - don't care about Metro at all)? Isn't Mozilla due
to update the ESR version in December?

Firefox 17.0 is the next ESR version. Firefox 17.0 release version is
due on 20-11-2012.

Thanks but that doesn't really answer my question. When does ESR get
changed? I think it is every 10 months which would mean some time in
December.

I'll install version 10 on Win 8....overload already to just learn that
awful Win 8 (I read that it is the steepest learning curve for any version
of Windows that Microsoft has released...extremely steep learning
curve...UGH...so I don't need a big learning curve for Fx at the same time.
I don't even like version 10. It is not stable like ver 4 that I use on my
host machine.

Amazing! You will probably not see any difference between 17 and 10.
And as for 4 being stable, you MUST be kidding. I have been using beta
versions of FF, and have only one crash since August. You might
consider a new profile for FF 17ESR.

Oh, I would definitely "Reset Firefox" for Firefox 17.0 ESR.

Maybe this will help Desiree.

I don't use ESR, but I've never had any issues with Firefox in Windows 8
(even betas).

Thanks. I haven't been to that page in a long while. I see the new version
will be available on Nov 20 but there is that 3 month overlap which I had
forgotten about. I had signed up for the mail list but I never got
anything. I guess I should try again.
