Occasionally. Probably an extension or a conflict between extensions,
as I use quite a bunch of them. It doesn't happen often enough for me
to bother with troubleshooting, though.
Also, it's a good idea to shut down FF after some heavy use (at least
2.x; I'm not sure about FF3), because it tends to eat up your memory,
and it becomes less stable.

I never had crashes until I updated my Free AVG antivirus. That added
link scanner. I disabled link scanner and no more crashes.

and if you want to have even more fun, so that you can create
additional profiles, Fx2 and/or Fx3 without having to disable
"AVG Safe Search" you have to go through a bit of a nuisance to
uninstall it -- almost deceptive using two different names for it
"Link Scanner" in the install and "AVG Safe Search" as the extension name.
