Would people think it would be easier if the "default browser" button
were to be on the front page of Options?

No, that would make it to confusing.

I didn't think it was really an 'advanced' option myself.

Isn't it?

Its in the Options dialog window, under the Main tab. This is the first
page that comes up when you open the Options dialog. System defaults is
at the bottom of Main.

If you click another tab and then close Options, the next time it opens,
it will open to that tab.

in Firefox 3.0b2 it is in with the other clutter in Advanced.

A look at the headers does show FF 8.0B2, though, I would submit, it
would have been nice of the OP to mention.

How I hit an "8" instead of a "3", I'll never know.

It used to be in he Main options panel, but was moved because it is not
an option that is often used, and allowed the height of the Options
window to be shorter.

I do think the new FF is much improved but I still feel that this
option should be put on the first "page" since add-on's to my way of
thinking is really an Advanced Option.

What do you think?

I think that something that asks me if it ISN'T the default, and that I
use once every year or two for testing should be at the bottom of the
totem pole. How often do you use it, if the answer is much more that
that, why?

65 during the day and 17 at night. Had snow for Thanksgiving. Never
know what to expect. Can dip to 6 degrees at night and zoom to 70
during the day. Erratic as hell during the winter. Nothing to
really complain about, but always something to talk about. <g>
