I use Thunderbird 3 Beta 4 (not in a productive environment), where can
I find a version of Lightning that works with this TB version ? Neither
the 0.9 version of Lightning nor nightly (1.0pre) can be installed
because none is compatible...

Current Lightning 1.0pre nightly test builds require Thunderbird
3.0b4pre or newer. They install fine in the official Thunderbird 3
Beta 4 build - I just tested with the latest test build from
<http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/>

Thanks, it worked.

Just install this, and it will be handled auto-magically. ;-)

I have this one installed and it worked fine, but with TB 3b4
it only finds a Lightning version which is incompatible.

Hi Patrick,
Please visit this page :
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/download.html
you will find the Lightning nightly builds (development builds),
updated every day.

Download the one following your OS : windows, Mac, Linux

It should work.

!!Remember!! "Please be aware, that the use of nightly developer
builds has risks associated with it. Don't use them with production
data, as dataloss and other scary things can occur. We're not
kidding."

even if it is pretty stable.

Have a nice day,
Patrice L.

Thanks for the link, but those are the version the updates
tries to download. I tried installing them manually, but
still get the error message of incompatible versions.
I'll try to edit the rdf file inside the xpi, that should work.

I can not get this to install on the TB 3 Beta 4. I use the addon to
grab the nightly builds of Lightning. I tried manually installing.
Nothing seems to work.

Probably the latest lightning nightly is not working with the
"semi-stable" beta, but only with a later nightly of TB3?

Hi all,

I've just upgraded to Thunderbird 3.0 beta 4 and get the Lightning
extension from here (win32):
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/nightly/win32-xpi/

It installed successfully and worked like a charm.

For google calendar support just install the gdata-provider.xpi in the
same folder above.

Cheers.

What distribution are you using? Most have 64-bit builds available. For
RHEL you may have to use a Fedora rpm for the latest version.

Gentoo. There is not ebuild for the nightlies.

A 64bit .xpi would be sufficient, wouldn't it?
