I don't use "Convert to" often but this time I did. I attempted to
convert an email message to an event. It seems to have done it
except... Well with a name like convert to I would have expected it to
behave more like a "move" instead of a "copy". IOW I expected the email
to disappear after it was converted to an event. That did not happen.
Also, although I know this is technically difficult, I would lave liked it if it at least attempted to discern the date and time of the event. It didn't. Again, I understand this is a difficult heuristic to attempt to implement. I guess my question is, does it even try?

Currently not. But based on the recent information in Bug 403222
work has started on this feature as part of a student project.
