Hi Rodrigo,
thanks for reaching out.
A few comments:
1) as for *all* Mozilla events, the invitation list is not perfect, there will *always* be names falling through the cracks and there will always be people who probably should not have been invited. That is a fact and until we have proper community management tools, this will always be the case.
2) 1000 people joined the "summit2013" group and 800 were selected. That means 200 people did NOT make the cut (including half a dozen Brazilians)
3) 36 community builders (aka stewards) + 9 Mozilla Reps council members reviewed this list. That's 45 people who regularly engage with volunteers around the world who reviewed this list for a period of 2 weeks.
4) the voting process was far from perfect but we did our best with the tools we have at our disposal and the extremely tight deadline we had. I think that rather than focusing on those people who "should not" be invited, i think we should focus our energy on identifying those people who should have been invited and did not receive an invitation.
5) I urge you not to spend too much time worrying about those people who you think should not be invited. I think you should focus more on the event itself, on the unique opportunity to be meeting hundreds of other Mozillians from around the world at an event that promises to be a very exciting one.
6) for visas, the summit planning team is very well aware of the challenge :)
