I have changed this start-up by going thro the usual motions several
times but FF insists in starting up with this crap. So, don't we have
the option of permanent choice of startup now? We just have to accept
the crap they want us to have?
The little popup telling that the page has been changed and do you
accept it? That thing doesn't want to go away either. What is a decent
alternative to Firefox, please? I am sick of having THEIR choices
rammed into my pc.
TIA.

I just updated PDF Creator and Incredibar was offered as an option on
running the install. I declined it and so don't have it. My guess is
that it came with another program you've installed (not Firefox).

If so, you should be able to uninstall Incredibar through Control Panel
(not FF add-ons). Check through the list of installed programs.

Kelly, you should not blame a program without proof that it is that
program fault in the first place.
I have been there and found that it was my fault for not being ALERT
enough to prevent a piece of software from being installed, you just
have to be a bit more vigilant.
Adobe software, like others, will try to install software that you do
not want by sneaking it during their installation for Adobe Reader for
example. I had a very big problem with My Web Search Bar even after
deleting it from the programs in Control Panel, I had the unpleasant
choice of going to the registry and delete all keywords from there one
by one and it`s not a job that I wish on everyone.
If you are complaining about the start homepage on your computer, it`s
very easy to go to the Options section of FF and delete the one that you
do not want and type in your old homepage, but you should make sure that
it is removed from control panel first. It could be just as easy as that.

Charlie, both you and Jeff Layman are correct. I DID download some
phoney stuff. It entered under the alias of VLC player. I have binned
it and the offending link. My (mental) apologies to FF. :-)
