As a tri-focal wearing senior citizen I set a minimum font size
of 18 in Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Fonts.
I'm using SeaMonkey 2.17.1 under WinXP Pro SP3.

When I went to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Preferences I
discovered that the third column of data is superimposed on a
navigation menu. I followed links through the
http://kb.mozillazine.org site without finding a suitable place
to report the problem.

As this is a common problem on many website my subject line
suggests the problem may be pervasive.

I wish to accomplish two things, perhaps requiring two separate
bug reports:
1. Fix the problem on
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Category:Preferences
2. Add a specific recommended practice that when creating a
web page representing the Mozilla project that page be viewed
with forcing a large font.

TIA

Perhaps Owlett requires fonts at not less than 18 px in order to read
text. If a Web site cannot be properly displayed with that setting, it
could be a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Are taxes too high in the U.S.? Check the bar graph

Why would you think Mozillazine forums is the proper place to report
possible ADA violations? He needs to report to those at Mozilla that are
in charge of accessibility problems. I used to have the contact address
but I don't now.

Not a viable solution. But in checking out your suggestion I
found a less intrusive way to demonstrate the bug. Instead of
changing the default font size, choose "Other" from the "Zoom"
menu and accept its default of 300%.

You will observe that all the text above the line above "There
are 200 articles in this category" flows correctly. Also the text
in the three boxes on the right side flow correctly.

Don't get me started on ADA (PC term for me is "mobility impaired").

I would much rather see Mozilla and its sites demonstrate how to
do things right.

You can try mozilla.accessibility newsgroup. Unfortunately, there is
little activity in the group (the last post is someone complaining about
it).

You can also look here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Platform/2013-Q2-Goals#Accessibility

That won't tell you who to contact though. I understand your problem and
frustration. I was an extremely nearsighted contact lens/progressive
glasses senior with cataracts and had to use large fonts in past years
with lots of pages like you describe. I then had cataract surgery and
got premium lens implants and now use 13pt font (and no glasses or
contact lens at all needed unless tiny print in poor light) but am still
worried about buying a new monitor (mine is almost 10 years old) and
getting a widescreen 24" one and needing larger fonts and if I will then
experience display problems at many sites. Even at 13 pt minimum font
size on Fx 17 ESR and Sea Monkey 2.17.1, the National Weather Service
page for my area displays with text on top of text in several areas. I
have to reduce minimum font size in both browsers to 11pt to get the
page to display properly and this is on a 19" LCD at 1280x1024.

Thank you. I had been looking more for something like "Bugzilla"
or "Contact Webmaster".

There is essentially no activity in any of the groups carried by
news.mozilla.org with "accessibility" in their title.

I hope you contact the sites you have problems with. I've had
generally good response when I've contacted the appropriate person.

I would think they would be particularly responsive. The pages I
use regularly have contact information posted. I see some of that
on the local radar page but it's in a menu area I don't use.
There seems to be a lack of standardization across weather bureau
related pages.

Contact me off-list if you wish to discuss setting I've found useful.

Richard, I submitted the bug for that page, will see what turns up. And
BTW, Mozillazine is not connected with Mozilla.org.

I didn't answer a question about reporting possible ADA violations, but
rather one about how to let the Mozillazine people know about a
possible problem with their web site.

They're responsible only for accessibility issues with Mozilla's
products, services, web sites, etc., not Mozillazine issues.
