Summary: txt markup

Comments:
Mozilla Thunderbird txt markup, alternative to html, rtf, and .. plain
text; for it to become a world standard.

Markup instructions are located in the same message body as the plain
text message itself, but below the %markup position (or something like
%markup), so that no markup is actually messing up the message (such as
<b></b>). Everything below %markup may be hidden. The plain text remains
plain text as we are used to in plain text emails, and remains the point
of departure. Have fun!

B Bold, I Italic, U Underline, S Strikethrough

for example
5B means fifth word Bold,
22BU means to display 22th word Bold and Underline,
44-46Q (quote), etc

If a PPP is present, followed by 5B, it means (to display) fifth word in
third paragraph Bold.
P. last paragraph
P- second last paragraph
sumP6 if desired, display only 6th paragraph (ie. crop to summary
sumW8-28
hide6 if enabled, allow hiding word 6
K13 word 13 is the keyword (no macro's, executables, more like PGP
style verification, you can create an extended version if you want)

L5 means embed fifth link (picture) in message, block this if you want.
For trusted sites only. (Pictures can speak a thousand words at once..,
when relevant.)

5goP7 if enabled, place a superscript number (hyperlink) at (after)
fifth word goto paragraph 7

Substitute (hyper)link with the preceding or following words (might be
helpful if link is endless):
PP2ls substitute first link with the two words preceding (in the second
paragraph)
ls3 substitute (the following?) link with the three words following
l4s() substitute forth link with anything between ( and ) following
that link
if there's none following but preceding, it goes for the
preceding instead, and again replaces the functionality of the hyperlink
""ls
ls.
ls, turns everything until the ','-sign into a link (recipients may
override, of course!)

PP3R5review put up (offer visibly) fifth word on third row on the
second paragraph for review
PPF second paragraph preferred displayed in fixed width, because of
(the) layout issues (valid for pure text columns/tables)
=3T8-16 words 8 through 16 are (is) a three column Table (so render)
=M Matrix
=G Graph
=E Equation
=eps eps?

Language markers
Ljava Lcpp Labc Lly Ltex (optionally render if trusted) Lvbs.. Luk Lnl
Lpg (language practical joke, why not) Lnn (not native)

im17 word 17 importance (impotence) level 1
immm8 word 8 importance level 3 (ie more important than 1, seemingly
very important)

W+ please keep formatting in reply
W+0 .. to preference depending
X substitute to (user's set) preference; such as opening words,
characters (ue instead of ü), vous/tu, Sie/du, u/je, sir/brother, globally.
Nf no feedback required
Od open to debate
SS second sentence
SSSF feedback wanted on third sentence, is or is not a question
#16G3 email carries code 16G3, only known to sender and/or recipient
(and a picture file.)
*Cwhite color '*'-signs white (sorry!)
H-C use html instead, but no colors
RF use rich text instead, but no font changes
FYI no reply expected
Y introductionary access email required
Y+ use more arguments
Y- be more concise
Y0 unsolicited email, for the sender to include, warning from the sender
Ym (mailinglist notification ID, ie. sent with mailing list)
Z. do not reply
Z tag (senders) preference reply welcome
Z/ reply none at all
Z-- go two levels (syntax) down
Z--B go two levels down AND don't use Bold
Z--BK+ls same as above AND don't use Keyword functionality, but DO link
substitute (I'll override it anyways ;)
Z//txt in message: "pure txt only please (same goes for html)" *
Spam friendly (favor to the world): Z/\/txt markup messages will be deleted

Of course, I realize that genuine plain text is (still) preferred by
many, and I respect that. But it does mean, what I'm suggesting, lower
bandwidth requirements (usage) than html, and perhaps a bit much more
fun to deal with. None of this stuff is actually in the message itself
(*exception when replying/bouncing). Sending, and receiving of such (a
html/BBcode preprocessor?) for that matter, is optional. See for yourself.

Overhead and instruction (intrusion) set open to debate..

Yours,
Bas Schoutsen
