I am having the same problem with ads.octoknot.com and have not gotten
an answer from Mozilla usergroups. I am thinking about getting rid of
Firefox, but I am also having a problem with my email with ATT/
Bellsouth. I can read it but cannot forward, reply, or compose. Have a
new Toshiba using Vista for the first time. Actually I think it is a
Vista problem. Toshiba says its a Microsoft problem, Microsoft says
its a Toshiba problem. So I am not real happy. Also check when you
send an email with Firefox, When I send mine, all of the text is
duplicated. Any soultions from anyone would help.

Don't know what's causing it either, but to stop it from running I
just started clicking on the stop button, next to the retry, page back
and forward in the upper left corner each time i open my e mail.

I am having the same problem. I e-mailed Mozilla Support and I am
awaiting a response. If I get anything useful I will post it. This is
very annoying and I never see what it is adding on. It doesn't stop!

I am also having the same problem . It only appears when I check my
AT&T e-mail using Firefox.

AT&T posted a message this morning that they are aware of the issue
and are trying to resolve it. In the meantime, they are recommending
using IE or another browser until the issue is resolved as they do not
officially support Firefox.

I am having the same issue. On my AT&T webmail inbox account (formerly
bellsouth.net) I get a contiuakky running verbnage that says
transferring data from ads.octoknot.com.....
AT&T was uselesss, Gateway was useless, McAfee and Webroot Sweeper was
useless.
Something evil is happening here. Do either of you have any ideas?
I do not think it a VISTA issue b/c aI have WIndows XP and it is doing
it.

Also having this problem. Do you have the URL where AT&T posted this
message? Seems a little dubious...

AT&T rep suggested using another browser not affected by this issue,
though I can still use my email despite the annoyance. Anyway, here's
the AT&T link that you asked for:

From what I have found, this looks like a known issue with the status
bar on Mozilla based browsers.

Second issue on this link.

It looks like they are replacing one of the images on the fly. I used
a network sniffer on my system, and no network traffic is being passed
after the page is rendered. Hitting refresh usually makes the problem
go away. I have seen the same behavior on other sites, so I do not
believe it is malicious. The problem does not happen in Safari,
Konqueror, IE, and others. Hope this helps.

BTW - I downloaded and tested Firefox 3.0b1 for OSX, and Windows and
it does not display this behavior. I tried many times to duplicate the
"Transferring data" message on my email and the status bar always
shows done. Looks like someone finally addressed the problem!

Here is a link to the download page if you want to grab a copy.
