Product: Firefox
Summary: Firefox 3 Beta 5 & Google Notebook 1.0.0.19 misbehave

Comments:
When attempting to "open notebook" from bottom right corner of firefox
the mini-notebook-window appears as well as a new firefox window.  This
happens to me consistently.  Perhaps the extension manager should look
into this.

I confirm. I'm experiencing the same problem on several computers (at
home and at work).

Same here -- multiple PCs, all running Win XP SP2. Reinstalling FF
beta 4 fixes it (and a bunch of other problems... I'll wait for beta
6).

OK me too. Who is responsible? Hands up! I am running Vista: so I
think that I already have enough problems to contend with. As I use
Notebook extensively with Firefox Beta 5.3, a fix from someone soon
would be great. Won't hold my breath.

Thanks all.

If you right click on the Open Notebook button and check "Enable 'Note
This' Button" you will be able to highlight text and then a little
blue + button will show up next to the text allowing you to add that
page and text to the notebook, just sort of a work around for saving
things for the time being.  You will still have to visit the google
notebook page to see your saved notes in your current window.

From the bug report:

this really doesn't look like a bug in Firefox itself, we
should probably close it out unless someone can show that this
really is
something that needs fixed in our code and not in the extension.

So it sounds like google needs to fix it.

Please fix, Google!  I'm come to rely on notebook, and its almost
unusable in FF3b5.  The behavior is the same on Vista and Ubuntu.

I'd just like to add a "me too" here.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008050509
Firefox/3.0b5

Infact, notebook just doesn't work when selecting text and right-
clicking to say "Note this"

Doesn't seem to be working in FF3 RC1 either (on Vista) and neither

What seems to work is this:

"Add it to the sidebar"

Open this link: http://www.google.com/notebook/ig?hl=__MSG_locale__
Bookmark it
Select its props
Select the [] add to sidebar.

Now when you click it, it will show up in your sidebar...

But still its a workarround...
