Summary: Picasa Web Album is missing "Download Album" button

Comments:
A friend sent me an unlisted Picasa web album and I wanted to download
the album. But the button that was there using Firefox 2 is missing in
Firefox 3. I tried my laptop, which still has Firefox 2 and the button
was there and I successfully downloaded the album even though the laptop
is running Vista!

Browser Details: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008051206 Firefox/3.0

Well, that's great isn't it? I don't happen to have a lappy with
Firefox 2 and can't now download Picasa albums! Fabulous! IE doesn't
have the Download Album either of course, so one of the really great
features of Picasa is, at least temporarily, unavailable! Hope it
gets fixed pronto as I personally find it very annoying not to be able
to download my friends' photo albums - we now have to return to
sending each other disks!

Nothing is stopping you from installing Firefox 2 again:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older.html

However, this may involve some complexities, to ask in
mozilla.support.firefox for the details and review
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installing_Firefox and
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager

Thanks for the info. I'd been wondering where the button had gone,
too. :-/

This solution is way less than ideal, but you could try a different
browser. The button still wasn't there when viewed in Opera, but it
was with my version of IE. It's at least a temporary solution until
Firefox 3 and Picasa are more compatible.

Any joy, anyone?

I am running Firfox 2 on my MacBook and the button is lost in cyber
space. It also isn't there in Safari. I would be caught dead using
IE, so looks like I'm out of luck for now.

In case you didn't know (or I missed it somehow) - for the "Download
Album" link to appear you have to make sure that Picasa is installed
on your computer; also, the album owner need to disable "hide" option.
again, sorry if you already know about this.

I think the best solution would be to install the IE Tab addon for
firefox three. This would simulate the action of IE and you could get
the d'l album link in firefox

FINALLY!!! I have been totally confused for the last couple of days
trying to let my family d/l the albums on picasa web and they were
saying the link to download wasn't there. I too have IE Tab and after
switching rendering engines on that tab it finally showed me the
download link.

Why on earth is this not fixed yet???? How annoying....google get on
it!
