Discussion around Bug 851698 - (checkboxes-that-kill) Get rid of options that kill our product
|
| |
Hi,
Trying to move the discussion of the bug to this mailing-list.
Context: article by Alex Limi [link]
The goal of this bug is to remove footguns in the Firefox preferences.
In my opinion, a crucially important point in Alex Limi's post is: "[When an advanced pref has been changed by mistake] For the general population, Firefox will appear broken.". Firefox reputation has suffered from problem which aren't directly due to Firefox (add-ons for perf-related problems is one example). We do not need more of this.... more »

improving bookmarklets

Problem:
Right now, every type of bookmark folder is stuffed into the bookmarks
menu. It is super cluttered with the menu coommands(show all
bookmarks, bookmark this page, bookmark all tabs), unsorted bookmarks,
bookmarks toolbar, and the actual bookmarks. This is very cluttered by
mixing everything together. With the addition of adding bookmarklet,... more »

The CSS Inspector

Hi All,
I'm trying out Aurora (~Fx 10) on Ubuntu 11.10. Love it!
I have a question regarding Alt > Tools > Web Developer > Inspect.
While it's brilliant as it stands:
will it be possible eventually to copy the selector details somehow
for pasting elsewhere?
and
will it be possible to get "finer" movement by using the keyboard to... more »

I have NINE NNTP accounts. With TB 8/linux I've had some problems logging in to some of them, and trying to load 2000 old messages from one of my backup accounts hangs TB so I have to kill it from outside and then delete the lockfile.
What really frosts me is the "News Server Username Required" message... more »

Stop the bling, fergawdssake!
|
| |
In a thread on m.s.thunderbird, I recommended downgrading if extensions don't work. I just downgraded my wife's FF8 to 3.6.24, because the Skype plugin won't work with FF8.
The upgrades above 3.x for the most part are mere bling and vinyl stick-ons, with zero or negative effects on usability. Updates should... more »
