Hi there,
Mozilla usability developers

In Internet
Explorer 8.0, Microsoft has finally managed to improve the zoom functionality to
the level it has been working in Word for some 15 years or more now. Better
late than never, I say. In IE 8.0, you can actually READ the current zooming percentage
in the lower right corner of the browser window. Even more, now it is possible
to open the zoom menu and actually TYPE IN the exact user defined zooming
percentage you want for yourself. This means, you don't need to rely on the
keyboard shortcuts or the mouse scrolling wheel anymore for zooming in and out
(at a fixed and unalterable rate of increment, that is) in order to find a zoom
level you can live with when reading internet sites.

It has taken
15 years for Microsoft to accomplish these tiny things! (and as far as I
recall, Microsoft were not even those who introduced the zooming functionality
in browsers in the first place.)

I think it
would be cool to have these zoom functionality improvements built into the
Firefox browser also, and the sooner the better. If the general ambition for
Mozilla developers is to build a better browser than the Explorer, then the
least you could do is adopting what Microsoft has already accomplished here...

Thank you
for your attention.
