Representing (listing) the e-mails in trees

I need following information to learn more about TB infrastructure:
1.
The routines reading e-mails from the IMAP server and listing them in
the relevant tree (Inbox, Sent, Drafts etc...).
2.
The routines reading e-mails from Local Folders and listing them in the
relevant tree (Inbox, Sent, Drafts or custom made folders)
If you can indicate only the XUL, JavaScript ..etc.. source file names
and relevant line info, this will also be OK.
