window onload

I am developing a toolbar and try to do some initializations using the
onload function of window.

Here are my codes

<window id="mywindow"
xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"
onload="alert('init');">
.............
.............
</window>


The toolbar shows up correctly, but "alter('init')" is never executed.

Any idea?

How do you allocate your toolbar window? How do you open your toolbar
window, using firefox or xulrunner?
Is it like an embedded IF...ELSE? as a popup window?
