After reading this post on Anti-Aliasing http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/11/02/the-ails-of-typographic-anti-aliasing via Smashing Magazine...

I'm curious if Firefox does in fact still inherit the anti-aliasing settings of the OS it is currently operating under as the article suggests.

It does with X11 and fontconfig at least.

I'd expect it to on other OSes also, but I don't know for sure.
I think with GDI and/or DWrite it might ignore default settings.
i.e. only take notice of settings that have been explicitly
chosen.
