Have you tried to start Firefox in Safe Mode? That will give you an
impression if it is any extension related problem. Help in how to start
in Safe Mode you find here: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode

Hi Melchert,
I can count to 50 easily before the Firefox screen appears and about 20 for
non cached pages to appear, even cached pages can take up to 10.
I have Win XP SP3 on a Medion 15 computer. Pentium 1.8Khz, 512MB ram.

Do you see any performance enhancements with a new profile and all
plugins disabled in the addons manager?
