SQLite vacuuming
Greetings, all... My databases have been getting kind of crufty of late. Looking for an efficient way to vacuum the databases, I thought I'd pass along this tip (and a question). Instead of using a GUI app which allows for the maintenance of one file at a time, the SQLite library (available - dare I say it - via yum from... more »

Unable to log in
I am running eCS 2.x and I am having consistent problems logging into certain sites, Verizon and Facebook in particular. I have tried with numerous versions of Firefox (v4.x thru v10.x) and Seamonkey (v1.x and 2.x) with no significant differences in results. When I try to log in one of the following happens:... more »

MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO - useful on OS/2
Is Pango used by OS/2 Moz apps? If so, might MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1 give us the same rendering improvements as those shown (though anecdotal) on Linux? I just stumbled on this issue again, and meant to follow up on it. TIA -- Lewis ------------------------------ ------------------------------ -... more »

RB 10.0.4 "Compact Folders" oddity
Several times now I have clicked File -> Compact Folders, but nothing happens. But when I immediately thereafter RMB -> Compact on specific folders they get compacted. Am I misunderstanding what File -> Compact Folders is supposed to do? I assumed it was supposed to compact any folders in need of being compacted.... more »

New SM versions
Has the OS/2 world run out of resources for SM? The most recent thing I find is a 2.7.2. Meanwhile, I am at Win 2.10b2. Ray

Firefox 10 crashes when I try to right click on a link and open the link in a new tab
Prior to FF 10, I was usually able to right click on a link and select "Open link in new tab", but now, as soon as I right click on a link, I get a rather strange effect as if a bunch of smaller windows were being opened on top and slightly offset from each other and then Firefox crashes. If I just left click on the link, it opens fine, and opens in a... more »

Search plugins I've submitted to the Mycroft Project
In case anyone is interested, I submitted a Hobbes search plugin to the Mycroft Project some time ago. This may be added to FF & SM. Likewise, I just did a new one for Google Groups (which also works to find usenet postings) via SSL, utilizing the "new" Google Groups interface. You may find both of these (and if you do find them useful, please... more »
