Supporting the Android DB backend
|
| |
Hi,
so far, we've been building our bookmarks/history/favicon accesses
through an abstract API (BrowserDB) that maps either to Android's
bookmarks/history DB (AndroidDB) or to our own private, local database
(LocalDB).
As far as I understand, Sync doesn't actually use this API, but uses
BrowserProvider (LocalDB) directly to get access to a more extensive... more »

Fennec kills my statusbar apps
|
| |
Now it is evident as coincident, after few minutes of using Firefox mobile, some apps running constantly in my statusbar always get killed. This never happens with any other browser and I suspect Firefox RAM hunger is guilty. The apps running in my statusbar create a overlay on the current app for smart user inputs (like *SwipePad, Dock4Droid, TaskChanger). UX sore points in Native Fennec
|
| |
Hi all,
We've made some pretty solid progress in terms of stability and
feature-completeness on Native Fennec in the last few weeks. Web

I've been using Native Fennec as my primary mobile browser for some... more »

1) Use an NDK version < r6b (glandium claims this will work; the problem... more »

Enabling local DB in Nightly (and Aurora soon)
|
| |
Hi all,
For those who aren't aware, we decided to ship the native UI Fennec
using a Fennec-specific (aka local) history/bookmarks DB instead
Android's system DB (which is what we're using at the moment). I've
just enabled local DB on nightly today. It should be available on
tomorrow's build. Aurora will get it soon.... more »
