We in Automation and Testing would like to deprecate Standalone Talos:

-
https://wiki.mozilla.org/StandaloneTalos
-
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=714659
StandaloneTalos hasn't been updated in almost a year. In the last two
quarters, :jmaher, myself, and several very helpful contributors have
make great progress to making canonical talos
(
http://hg.mozilla.org/build/talos) much easier to install and use.
The two most important, IMHO:
- it now has a setup.py script that will install the dependencies
- pageloader is now bundled in talos
There are many other nits that have not yet been fixed, but we are
rapidly developing it.
This should make it as easy to use if not easier than StandaloneTalos
is. No one has been maintaining StandaloneTalos and we'd like to
eliminate it and encourage users to use canonical Talos.
Does anyone have any issues or questions with this? I'm happy to debunk
myths that StandaloneTalos is doing anything useful. If there is any
issue that StandaloneTalos fixes that is not currently covered in
canonical Talos, I'd love to know about them and fix them in the
canonical source.
Thanks!
Jeff Hammel
