How then would you discover bugs that are OS dependent? I'm dealing
with them every day, and it would awfully complicate my work if that
field was not there.

As a compromise one could remove the OS and Hardware fields from the
guided form. But then I am not sure how I could reliably search for
all OS/2 bugs that were filed over the last 5 days...
