Hi everyone,

Despite a lot of hard work, we're still a little bit away from being
ready to hand the code for Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 over to the build team
at this time. As of this writing, there are 17 bugs (marked blocking
with the appropriate TM) that need to be resolved before we can ship.
Those lists are here:

Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 Blockers
10 bugs: http://tinyurl.com/5a9tkq
0 nominations: http://tinyurl.com/6es9es

Gecko 1.9.1 Beta 2 Blockers
7 bugs: http://tinyurl.com/6obnt6
0 bugs: http://tinyurl.com/6dbcxp

The tree will remain closed until resolutions are achieved. We'll
update this thread as we go. If anyone knows of a bug that *should*
block this beta, please make sure that it is marked with the
appropriate target milestone; I'll be watching those numbers pretty
carefully :)

cheers,
mike

An update:

The tree spent most of Monday closed due to recurring test failures
which we have as yet been unable to conclusively link to any single
checkin. As a result some, but not a lot, of progress was made on the
outstanding bugs for Beta 2. Patches are ready to land, we just need a
tree that can take them.

cheers,
mike

Latest news:

After last night's maintenance and three days of harsh sheriffing
(thanks to all those who helped) the intermittent oranges have become
less frequent and checkins resumed. Blocker bugs have fallen away
quickly, and we're now down to only about two blockers in addition to
a TraceMonkey merge update.

As always, latest available schedule information and remaining work is
available at: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_3.1b2

cheers,
mike

Another week, another update!

- the tree is green (this is good)

- we have three open blockers and one nomination on the platform side:
--- 450000 needs to be landed on the tracemonkey tree and merged to
mozilla-central
--- 453157 needs review (mrbkap on hook, I'm sure he wouldn't mind
if someone else took it)
--- 465262 needs to be merged to mozilla-central (didn't seem to
come along with yesterday's merge, must have missed it?)
--- 463997 a JS bug, needs to be triaged

- we have one blocker on the front-end side:
--- 465693 a potential regression from tear-off tabs

- we have 17 approved but not yet checked in patches:
--- see http://tinyurl.com/approved191b2
--- since we really need to close this out today, I'm going to re-
triage this list to reduce the number

(I am tempted to propose that from this point on we take beta 2
blockers ONLY, but several of the approved patches are build system
things which are super-safe and nice to have)

Find me in #developers if you have any questions. Let's get this
closed out today!

cheers,
mike
