The mozilla-1.9.2 repository will be branching from mozilla-central early tomorrow morning, Thursday, August 13th, early in the morning EDT. The steps will be:
- release engineering will close the mozilla-central tree to all checkins - the mozilla-1.9.2 repositories will be synchronized from mozilla- central ones - release engineering will hand the mozilla-central tree over to product drivers[1]
After that, we'll be keeping both mozilla-central and mozilla-1.9.2 closed to all checkins except for ones that:
- have specific approval from product drivers[1] - are marked as blocking1.9.2+ or blocking-firefox3.6+
In other words, for the rest of Thursday and Friday, we'll be keeping the mozilla-central and mozilla-1.9.2 trees locked to the same set of checkins. This is in order to ensure that all the automated build and test boxes are working as expected (should be returning the same numbers) as well as to keep the trees synchronized since we expect to build the final Fennec beta from mozilla-central on Friday.

Done.

Consider this a hand off. The tree is yours.
A couple additional points: Builds are running off of the new mozilla-1.9.2 repository now, I'll update this thread again once I'm confident the infrastructure is working OK. I've version bumped mozilla-central to 1.9.3a1pre/3.7a1pre.

There's been some question about whether or not we're going to keep the tree CLOSED or RESTRICTED. To avoid accidental checkins, we're actually going to keep it CLOSED for now, and will re-open mozilla- central to all checkins once we're sure that the new mozilla-1.9.3 infrastructure is behaving as planned.
When mozilla-1.9.2 re-opens, it will only be open for checkins on blocker bugs or for patches that have approval1.9.2+ set.

Per irc clarification, this is an "or", not an "and". That is, you need one or the other but not both.

People are expected to push to both manually, right?

Good that you updated https://wiki.mozilla.org/TreeStatus with this new info just a few minutes before I was about to comment here that you should update it :-)
