Hey everyone,

As discussed in today's development meeting, due to the excellent work on knocking down the Firefox 3.6 Beta topcrash list, we've decided that it would be worthwhile to ship another beta update to our close to half million testers to confirm our expectations. We'd also like to get as much feedback as possible on the more than 140 fixes we've made [1] since we shipped the update last week.

Rob Sayre and the JS team have another 20 or so fixes that need to merge over to mozilla-1.9.2, and they're working hard on that right now. They hope to be done before 6pm PST. Nick Thomas will be starting builds at 7pm PST, with or without a successful TraceMonkey merge, with an eye to having builds ready for QA spot checking Wednesday morning before the Thanksgiving break. Those wishing to help spot check the builds should hop into #qa on irc.mozilla.org tomorrow morning PST and ask Juan Becerra how they can do so.

If all goes well, we'll look to ship updates to our beta users late Wednesday or early Thursday; either way, it will be up to those outside the USA to drive it over the line, as our American friends enjoy their well-earned Thanksgiving holidays.

As always, you can find me in #planning on irc.mozilla.org; if I don't respond immediately, I'll catch your scrollback or you can send an email.

cheers,
mike
