Hi,

As a response to the FF2 EOL I would like to point you to an issue we
have seen here which has prevented us from using Firefox 3;

"Firefox 3 failures when profile is stored on a samba/cifs network drive";
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451215

Other bugs referred to (directly or indirectly) from the above that may
be relevant;
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449316

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430987

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434307

Thanks

Following the bugs, it looks like this is:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462287 - Places fails to
initialize on CIFS homedirs

which itself is caused by SQLite not being able to work properly on
that filesystem (http://sqlite.org/cvstrac/tktview?tn=1751). The
workaround is to mount the CIFS with the "nobrl" option.

cheers,
mike
