First, if you haven't read my blog post[1] or my previous dev-planning email, softblockers *now require explicit approval*.

Second, we are so close to beta 12 I can taste it! We have 8 open betaN hardblockers[2], and ONLY ONE without a patch!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are more details about the current betaN hardblockers:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[634639] - block old XPCOM java plugin npjpi160_XX.dll
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 634639
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: This bug is a simple blocklisting bug for plugins we no longer support. I have put up a "patch" and it should be good to go as soon as it is qualified. Once we add it to the blocklist database we'll trigger the auto-syncing to land it on mozilla-central.

--

[634669] - transform stresstest is broken on d3d9
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 634669
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: On Windows we have some broken rendering when using d3d9 and transforms. There is a simple test case and a simple, well understood fix. I highly suggest checking out the stress test link @ http://www.tapper-ware.net/stable/web.dom.stresstest.transform/. It's pretty trippy!

--

[634669] - transform stresstest is broken on d3d9
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 634669
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: Firebug automated tests have uncovered a crash when using firebug with Firefox 4. This bug is fixed on tracemonkey and is waiting for a merge to mozilla-central.

--

[633463] - Java 1.6 crash clearing private data [@ npjpi160_23.dll@0x1657 ][@ npjpi160_07.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_06.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_05.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_04.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_03.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_02.dll@0x1674 ][@ npjpi160_01.dll@0x1674 ]
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 633463
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: This is a crash with the Java 1.6 plugin when clearing private data. There is a fix, though it isn't clear it is needed once we apply the blocklist in bug 634639 (see above). There may be a small problem with the patch, but it looks well understood and should be resolved shortly.

--

[629227] - Logging into chase.com requires an extra step since Firefox 3.6
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 629227
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: This was an odd bug that dealt with wrappers and document.domain. Blake has a fix that is about to get r+!

--

[628701] - Panorama doesn't render thumbnails for many tabs
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id= 628701
Status: ON TRACK
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: This is a fairly involved patch that fixes a large annoyance with Panorama. The patch is reviewed and ready! The bug has checkin-needed. I'm working on getting it landed for tonight but ath the very latest it will land on mozilla-central tomorrow.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is where the previous blockers from my last email went:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[589670] - Need to help OS X users upgrade Flash for Firefox 4?
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589670
Status: DEFERRED TO FINAL
Has Patch: Yes
Synopsis: The bug has morphed into a blocklisting bug for certain old Flash versions on Mac OS X 10.6. We know how to blocklist and don't need beta coverage, so this bug no longer blocks beta 12!

--

[630947] - reloading about:home builds up 50+ DOMWindows
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=630947
Staus: DONE
Synopsis: This bug ended up getting duped to bug 630932 (which is in the previous section).

--

[626678] - Firefox becomes unresponsive when docking or undocking my laptop
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626678
Status: DEFERRED TO FINAL
Synopsis: In certain configurations (certain machines with certain graphics cards using a docking station with dual monitors) Firefox may hang. Release drivers decided this doesn't really need beta coverage but we should still drive to fix it for final.

--

[629799] - Alpha extraction in plugin subprocesses is broken on windows
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=629799
Status: DONE
Synopsis: This is the risky bug we have been waiting on. It enables Flash movies set as transparent to display correctly with graphics acceleration enabled. It previously landed on mozilla-central and bounced due to test failures. We know this bug needs at least a couple days of nightly testing before we will release a beta with it but the good news is it has LANDED!

--

[632781] - Tall <canvas> element fails to scroll with the rest of the page
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=632781
Status: DONE
Synopsis: When creating a large canvas element scrolling is messed up. This has LANDED!

--

[611591] - Clearbox broken (incorrect image order, white instead of first image)
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611591
Status: DONE
Synopsis: ClearBox developers have incorrect expectations. We will be reaching out to have them fix their code. There is nothing wrong on Firefox's side.

--

[626909] - jsd.onError and jsd.onDebug fail
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626909
Status: DONE
Synopsis: The original issue was fixed at some past point in time. Bug 634434 was spun off for a similar issue (see above section).

--

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=632343
Status: DONE

--

[626206] - Flash menu and games rendered with black background
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626206
Status: DONE

Synopsis: This bug finally merged over to mozilla-central.

--

[613800] - A Race Condition when closing inactive tab with alerts in OnBeforeUnload

As of this morning, we're down to 4, 2 of which are fixed-in-tracemonkey, 1 of which is blocklist, 1 of which has a reviewed patch. [1]

Holy... crap?
