HELP!! I have apparently lost a Bugzilla query. It's the set of bugs
that all have the tag Ross-tracking. I don't have a list of what bugs
were in that set.

I have tried to recreate the set, knowing that some of them were bug
reports that I authored. After adding some bug numbers from a query on
all my open bug reports, I'm now getting "The name Ross-tracking is
already used by another saved search. You first have to delete it if
you really want to use this name."

Is it at all possible to restore my query from a backup? I don't think
I changed what bug reports had my tag today.

Is it possible that you didn't delete it entirely, but just deleted it
from the footer? Does it show up on
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=saved-searches at all?

If not, sounds like a bug (file on |mozilla.org/Bugzilla: Other b.m.o
Issues| for the DB to be checked)

Yes, I see it in my saved searches. The problem is that I don't want to
delete it.

Apparently, it was deleted. I had just submitted a new bug report
(#532831) and tagged it for Ross-tracking. Something seemed awry at
that point, so I ran the Ross-tracking search. Apparently, it was
deleted because only that one bug appeared.

I started to repopulate Ross-tracking by tagging bug reports that I knew
were in that search. After successfully tagging a few, that's when I
got the error about it already being in use.

Is there no backup from which to restore the search -- the tagging of
bugs with Ross-tracking -- to what it was some time in the 24 hours just
prior to 3 December 2009 19:27 PST?

What specifically was 'awry' ?

I can get that error if I have a 'standard' search and then try to add a
bug to that search using the tag UI.

However, it does appear to be possible to save over a tag query with the
standard search UI. Does 'ross-tracking' still show up as a tag?

Had you added a tag since the Bugzilla update? (mid-November) Your best
bet is to file a bug and have someone get the raw data out of the DB.
Its possible that the upgrade did something odd, but I can't see
anything wrong with the code by looking at it.

What seemed awry was when I added the tag to #532831. The tag name
input area was blank. Usually, it has Ross-tracking, which is the only
tag I use.

In attempting to reconstruct the search, I successfully added tags to
about six bugs, 2-3 at a time. When I tried to add tags to three more
bugs, that is when I got the error message.

I'm getting the impression there is no backup of the database that would
allow me to recover my hosed search. Is that correct?

That means that Bugzilla stopped thinking it was a tag-based query for
some reason. You didn't use 'edit search' on the query, did you? (bug
533067) Even then it shouldn't have lost the query.

I don't suppose its possible to reproduce this on a new tag? I tried a
few times and couldn't get that error message to come up.

No idea - I'm a bugzilla developer but don't have access to the mozilla
install. https://bugzilla-stage-tip.mozilla.org/ is from mid Nov,
though, which may help.

cc me on the bug? (mozilla.org/Bugzilla: Other b.m.o Issues if you can't
reproduce it, to get a look at the DB, and Bugzilla/Query/Bug List if
you can)

Put the results of
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?debug=1&cmdtype=runnamed&namedcmd=Ross-tracking
in there too, both from production and the stage install.

I submitted bug #533050, but that was marked as a duplicate of your own
bug #533067. Please see my comment on your bug report (E-mailed to you
by Bugzilla).
