My name is Augustina and I'm interested in working on developer
documentation. I have over 10 years of computer industry experience both as
a programmer and in an IT support role. I'm working on my Technical Writing
certification and need more experience in writing documentation for a
developer audience. Currently I am also contributing to the Ubuntu Linux
Documentation Project. I wrote documentation for the "usb-creator" utility
that will be shipped in the Karmic release later this month, and I'm working
with the packaging team to edit and improve Ubuntu's packaging
documentation.

I'm still looking over the wishlist and bugzilla, but I've been lurking in
IRC and though I should introduce myself to the list. I'm also aware of the
challenges of creating new accounts currently, but certainly I can still
work on documentation and once I'm able to create an account, get the
documentation onto the wiki!

Thanks!
Augustina

If you need an account set up, you can email me your preferred
username, real name, and email address and I'll set it up for you.

Welcome Augustina! I work with the Mozilla Messaging team, helping with
Thunderbird docs. While Sheppy is the main person for all things related
to MDC, please feel free to ping me as well if you need help or just
want to say hi. (I'm "jen at mozillamessaging.com" or "jenzed" in the
"maildev" IRC channel.)

Is anyone currently working on the XUL docs? It looks like the Intro to XUL
needs a technical review and then update to be more current. Is anyone
working on this or is it ok if I dive in?

I don't know of anyone actively working on the XUL documentation,
beyond any updates for Firefox 3.6 that might be needed. Feel free!

If you ever venture over into the XUL reference, be aware that it uses
transclusions heavily.

Also, for any pages you touch, as a final step could you verify that
there aren't any artifacts leftover from the MediaWiki to Deki
conversion? This usually takes the form of empty paragraphs (especially
after headings) and too deeply nested headings without using h2, e.g.,
from the source view:

>
Whatever

>

>
This is introductory text for whatever

>
Description

The empty paragraphs should be removed and the subordinate headings
shifted up one level.

Thanks Colby, I'll keep an eye out for that.
