On support.mozilla.com, you can assign freetags (aka "Folksonomy Tags")
to articles, as seen in the "Tags in This Article" sidebar box. We can
now make existing freetags specific to each locale.

What I need is for each locale leader on support.mozilla.com to go to
<http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-freetag_translate.php>, to set the
language on freetags in your language.

On the one hand I see some strings in french, portuguese and russian,
followed by "- Set language" and a combo box (including Universal, eu,
and en). Is this the normal behaviour?
On the other hand, how can I see the context for a certain tag? e.g. I
have "won't" tag, but unless I see the context I don't how to
translate it.

Thanks in advance,

Julen.

I encountered the following error when submitting the translated tags. Please, let us know when this will be fixed. It's long to populate each field.

Context:
File tiki-freetag_translate.php
Url tiki-freetag_translate.php
Query:
UPDATE tiki_freetagged_objects SET tagId = ? WHERE tagId = ? AND objectId IN( SELECT objectId FROM tiki_objects INNER JOIN tiki_pages ON tiki_pages.pageName = tiki_objects.itemId WHERE tiki_objects.type = 'wiki page' AND tiki_pages.lang = ? )
Values:
0 457
1 167
2 fr
Message:

Built query was probably:
UPDATE tiki_freetagged_objects SET tagId = '457' WHERE tagId = '167' AND objectId IN( SELECT objectId FROM tiki_objects INNER JOIN tiki_pages ON tiki_pages.pageName = tiki_objects.itemId WHERE tiki_objects.type = 'wiki page' AND tiki_pages.lang = 'fr' )

I have the same doubts.

Moreover, I wish to know if there is some way to correct tags already
inserted - I don't seem to see any way to edit the page again.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry! :-[

I've understood (at last...) ;-)

This UI seems a little confusing. Really, the only thing that we're
asking you to do is to specify the language of tags that were created
(in your language!) before we enabled isolated freetags per locale. So,
if you created some Russian tags the last few weeks, those tags
currently have the default language "Universal", and should be changed
to Russian in this case.

Hi,
No, I've been in touch on irc with Nelson the same day I posted this.
One issue is a known limitation of tikiwiki as far as I understood (same
translation for several tags). The other wasn't very clear. As a
turnaround, I committed the changes by committing several small changes
at a time, instead of all at once. Nelson could explain you this much
clearly. But well, for the French locale, I think we can consider this
fixed.

What do the following tags mean actually?

* assistivetechnology
* aria
* liveregions (further down there is a mistypo: livreregions?)
* fixup
* jumble
* aim

It seems like I can't use the same translated word for 2 english words,
is that true?

Also I can't seem to translate :

* modules
* popups
* migration

And once translated, how can I change the mistypos after saving?

Remember to save frequently, or you will automatically be logged out and
your work is gone.
Workaround when it happens is to use the login right above to open in a
new tab, login,
go back to previous tab, hit the back button and save.

I'm not sure I understand. Could you provide an example?

> Also I can't seem to translate :

You don't need to translate them. We're just separating the tags by
language, so when people pick tags to assign, they only see tags in
their language, and so the "Related Articles" box (which is dependent on
freetags) doesn't list translated versions of the same article.

> And once translated, how can I change the mistypos after saving?

Use <http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-browse_freetags.php> to see which
articles contain the misspelled freetags, and remove the bad freetag
from the each article.

There's a button in the Administration panel for removing freetags not
in use. We'll use it on a regular basis.

Keep the questions coming! :-)

There seems to be some tags still using the Universal language, but I
can't set the language myself because the UI only exposes English and
Swedish for me.

I _think_ the tags are in Portuguese.

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page, until you see a box called "Show
the following languages:".
2. Select the languages you want to set the tags to.
3. Click "Select".
