Hello community,

It took a bit more time than usual but Transvision 2.6 is out!

Before talking about the new features and changes, I'd like to welcome
Francesco Lodolo (Flod) as a new team member to the Transvision dev team. :)

The dev team is now a 3 people team (Jesús, Flod and myself), Filip, the
original creator of Transvision intends to also get back to the project
when he finds time and two more people from the French community told me
this week at the Mozilla Paris grand opening that they intend to help
over the summer. The team is growing, which is both cool and good for
the perenity of the project.

Now let's get to this new release. Here is what you will find:

- A new download page listing all the TMX files we generate on a daily
basis: http://transvision.mozfr.org/downloads/ If you use an offline
translation tool that can be fed with translation memories in the TMX
format, that may be of interest to you.

- Entity names in search results in the first column are now links to an
entity search. I am seeing very frequently now people exchanging
Transvision search results in bugs, IRC or emails, this should help
sending a specific search result for a single entity.

- The source (usually English) string in the second column is no longer
a link to Google translate, instead we have added links below the string
for both Google Translate and Bing Translate

- various visual fixes (you may want to reload the page to clear your
cache to see them)

- English is now treated as a regular locale, the immediate effect is
that the json api can now return results in en-US only (request by
Ricardo for a future inclusion of a translation suggestion feature in
Mozilla Translator fed from the Transvision json source)

- There are various improvements to the general setup process of
Transvision, this is mostly to help coding volunteers getting set up,
but that also means that you could actually set up Transvision locally
relatively easily for offline use provided that you are on Linux/Mac (it
would probably work on Windows but it's untested) and that you have a
webdev stack installed (php, python and apache if your version of php is
<5.4).

The 2.7 development cycle has now started, as usual we will continue
improving Transvision in small steps, trying to find a balance between
code quality, real world problems solving and keeping the project simple
enough to be maintainable by the community.

Enjoy!

Pascal

Thanks a lot for the new features. Transvision has been a "must have"
since its inception, and it is getting more and more valuable over
time. I hope to include the Tranvision query feature in next
MozillaTranslator version (sorry, I can't be as lightning fast as you
adding new features). ;-)
