Hi guys,

I'd like to ask if it would be possible to add Silesian language support to Mozilla products. It's a regional language used in southern Poland and the northeastern part of the Czech Republic. I'm not sure what information you need so I'll give you the whole thing:

name: Silesian
code: szl
nplurals: 3
pluralequation: (n==1 ? 0 : n%10>=2 && n%10=20) ? 1 : 2)
rule_one: n is 1
rule_few: n mod 10 in 2..4 and n mod 100 not in 12..14
rule_other: everything else

Recently we got an unofficial Facebook, Google Search and XBMC support (I happened to be the translator:)). Also, an official support for Silesian was given from the Czech SCS Software and Polish CD Projekt in the game Euro Truck Simulator 2 (Yeah!) in which I participated, too. :)

Best,
Greg

Hi Greg

Thank you for your email and welcome to the Mozilla Community! We're
excited that you're interested in joining our localization effort.

Since you have stated that you would like to start a new localization
effort, I'll will be your mentor and point of contact.

Here's how you can get started:

Please kindly add your team information to the Silesian L10N team page here
https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Teams:szl

Visit L10n process doc[1] to become familiar with how we localize.

Visit the L10n Quick Start Guide [2] to find tutorials on how to jump
in and start localizing.

For general information on the Mozilla localization program, visit our
wiki home page[3]. You're also welcome to read through and post to the
localization discussion newsgroup[4]. Hope to see more from you soon!

Cheers

Hello Arky,

I'm terribly sorry it took me so long to write back. I had some other things to do but I'm ready to work with the localization.

I have some questions though. The l10n documentation is a little confusing so I hope you will explain a few things to me.

If I translate strings in Narro, I don't need to download all those tools like hg, Mozilla Translation Tool, Koala etc., right? The only thing necessary is actually a copy of Firefox on my computer to test the translations?

I registered an account in Narro (User "chlodny" at http://a.maimult.ro/lmo/user.php?l=blk&u=1564).

Also the documentation says that if I want to start translating with Narro, I should contact "l10n drivers and ask the Narro global administrator to start a new localization in Narro for your locale". I couldn't find any contact information to the Narro global administrator. Is he one of the drivers?

Sorry for such basic questions but I just read about a hundred Mozilla Wiki pages and I'm a little twisted because of that. ;)

Best,
Greg
