Hello,

I'd like to know if someone succeeded in having a working persona extension
for mediawiki, the existing one seems not to be maintained since months...

Also I wondered if there is way to pay for a plugin (that would be released
in FLOSS) for some CMS whick are lacking a persona plugin, and if yes, how
much would it cost :)

Thank you :)

Depends on the CMS, I guess! I'd be happy to do some consulting on
Persona for Python-based projects.

Cheers,

I do not know of anyone currently working on the MediaWiki plug-in,
though we would love to have it for wiki.mozilla.org.

The chief problem is figuring out how to deal with users who did not
provide an email address when registering for the wiki, since MediaWiki
doesn't require that by default.

Which CMS are you interested in? MediaWiki?

Thanks Dirkjan :)

In fact we're not (yet) using a python-based CMS, but very standard php
ones, as we wanted to support Persona, we wanted to make some
unification (ie each CMS having a persona login proposal)

These are Vanilla forums (who has no Persona plugin)
Mediawiki who has a non working unmaintained extension
SPIP who has an ouf of date plugin.

Of course, I may also work on it myself, but I'm far from being a Json
expert :p Well it's a matter of learning and patience, so I may try anyway.

JSON isn't very hard. :) Anyway, you should feel free to ping this
list or join the IRC channel if you have any questions about RP
implementation. The first time I did it, it only took me like an
afternoon or so. The docs on MDN are pretty good.

Cheers,

IIRC Shane had tried to integrate Mediawiki, but there were some issues
with the database. Shane, am I remembering correctly?

The SPIP Persona plugin should be up-to-date now. My patches were
committed 2-3 weeks ago.

At the time, there was no way to look up a user by email address. This
was a year and a half ago though and things may have changed.
