issues with a proxy and XMLHttpRequest

For some reason our extension does not work
when people have proxy servers enabled. We are using Ajax
via MochiKit library. Is there any known issues with that or
proxy servers and Ajax use in extensions?

I don't know of any off-hand.

Could you be more specific about the failure? What behaviour are you
seeing that you don't expect?

Do you get error messages? Do they connect to the server and not get
a response? Do they not connect to the server?

More detail will likely be needed to figure out what the issue is, I'm
afraid. :(

I just tested XMLHttpRequest in FF2.0 against a SOCKS5 server and it works as expected.
