Sample dynamic menu creation, similar to Firefox Bookmarks drop down

I need to create a dynamic drop down menu for an extension, which
includes sub menus. The menu would be somewhat similar to the menu used
for Firefox bookmarks.

Is there a good javascript sample somewhere that I could use to get started.
